I woke up this morning thinking about presence in massage, and how I believe it makes for a great massage. On Facebook Tom C. posted
Healing Presence: One of four attributes of the Heart Center as explained by Ann Marie Chiasson, MD. In her book “Energy Healing”
Healing Presence
Is the longing and desire toward healing. When I write “towards healing,” what I mean is that the longing and desire moves energy in the direction of healing. Healing presence is love in action. The body is wired to heal itself, and much of this impulse comes from the energy of healing presence. Healing occurs in the presence of love and the desire for healing.
So good! I ordered the book.
From the Quantum Touch web-site…
Quantum-Touch is a powerful, yet easy to learn, energy healing modality.
The Quantum-Touch techniques teach us how to focus and amplify life-force energy (known as “chi” in Chinese and “prana” in Sanskrit) by combining various breathing and body awareness exercises. When you learn to direct the life-force energy, the possibilities are truly extraordinary; our love has more impact than we can imagine.
Massage Therapists can easily combine Quantum-Touch with their massage work. Sometimes energy can work at a greater depth than massage work, especially if the client is injured. Because energy healing uses a light touch, (and sometimes no touch) energy healing can also be applied where massage work may be contraindicated. Also, massage therapists can use energy healing during the massage to increase the therapeutic work of the massage and allow the client to go into deep states of relaxation and connection.
My training in CranioScaral Therapy taught me to talk to the body. I have a conversation with the client first, and then with body. It all happens in my head, but I ask questions like…
What do you need? How can I help you? Where is the best place to work with this issue?
I say things, (also in my head) like….
I’m here for you. Relax. You can trust me. You know how to fix this, let me help you.
The more I’m able to find presence, the more blissful it becomes for me. Time goes away. I’m in the the Big Love.
