The trick to getting it to rise so well, is having the ingredients at room temp.
1/2 cup milk
6 Tbs. Flour
2 Tbs. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt
dash of nutmeg (optional)
Preheat of to 425 ( I melt the butter and heat the pan while it’s warming, a 9″ glass pie plate works great!)
Mix milk, flour, vanilla, and spices.
In separate bowl, whisk eggs. Add eggs to mix, and barely whisk it in. The more you beat it, the less it will rise.
Add to melted butter, and bake until big and browned, about 15-18 minutes.
